Safe Routes to School

Now that it is darker when students are heading to school and icy roads are coming soon, it's important we all do our part to stay safe as students are coming too and from school.
  • If your child rides a bike or scooter to school, including an e-bike or scooter, make sure they wear a helmet and have a light and reflectors.  We have flashing red lights for them in the office or with the SRO for free.
  • Remind your child of the rules of the road and that they should use designated crossings.  Please remind them to push the cross walk button if there is one.
  • Please slow down in school zones and be sure to drive the speed limit.  When the lights are flashing on Ten Mile and on Boise St, it is 20 MPH.
  • Ensure your children are watching for vehicles.
  • It is best if students do not wear all dark clothing, when icy roads come, it's difficult for drivers to see them and difficult to stop.

If everyone slows down and is alert, we can all do our part to make sure everyone is safe!

Friday Shout Outs!

Our three students receiving shout outs this week are Payzlee Pruitt, Devin Porcaro, and Drew Beasley!
  • Mrs. Peterson wants to recognize Payzlee for being incredibly helpful. She helps organize music, volunteers to work with beginning trombone players and always works hard on her music.  Payzlee always knows what is going on the music room and is the "go to gal" for many music students.  Thank you Payzlee for always being such a rock star student.
  • Ms. Sauve would like to give a shout out to Devin for being so helpful with his group by gathering materials and sharing his thoughts and ideas. Keep it up Devin!
  • Mrs. Brittney Jones would like to give a shout out to Drew Beasley for gathering his assignments prior to an extended absence. He turned in all of his completed assignments on the first day back AND took a test without complaint. Way to be responsible!

The three teachers being celebrated this week are Ms. Sauve, Mrs. Mathias, and Mrs. Covarrubias!
  • A Kaveman-sized shout-out goes to Ms. Sauve and Mrs. Mathias for showing up to Monday’s basketball game with an intense amount of spirit and support. They cheered with the cheerleaders, participated in the wave, and even donned pom poms. Thank you for your support!
  • A huge shout-out to Mrs. Covarrubias for her incredible kindness, her sweet and welcoming personality, and for always being right there to support and help her students every single day! Thank you, Mrs. Covarrubias, for everything you do to make our school and the art room such a positive, supportive place to learn! We appreciate you!
