Sports/Deportes:

• Good luck to our Cross Country at their meet in Middleton today! Kick those heals up!
• We are crossing every finger and every toe for our 8th Grade Volleyball teams today! They play against Fremont at our home court. Make sure you show up and cheer loud!
• Huge congratulations to Kuna Middle School’s own Anton Arabadji! Following his outstanding performance at the Arsenal Soccer Camps, Anton has been invited to represent the Kaptiva Sports Academy Global Stage at the FIT Cup 2027 in Barcelona, Spain! He will be traveling to Europe next year to train and compete against international competition.

Reminders/Recordatorios:

• Energy drinks ARE NOT allowed on campus. If you bring them to school, they will be confiscated or you will be asked to throw them away.
• Techgirlz is just around the corner! Mrs. Riggs is able to take the first 20 eighth grade girls who fill out permission slips. The field trip is on October 15, but the permission slip is due on September 29. Please see your science teacher or Mrs. Riggs for details.
• Next week is homecoming week! To celebrate and pump up the school spirit, we will be participating in the following dress-up days:
  • Monday: Carnival Day(like in the movie, Rio)
  • Tuesday: Twin Day
  • Wednesday: Spirit Day
  • Thursday: Early 2000s
  • Friday: Dolly Parton Day
• Attention students and staff! Next Friday, September 25th, is Dolly Parton Day! To celebrate, our AVID students are hosting a campus-wide Book Drive. You can help spread the love of reading by donating new or gently used children's books. Please deliver all book donations to Room 7 during Advisory period between now and September 25th. Let's work together to make this book drive a huge success!

Today is Friday, September 18, 2026. It is a B Day.

Lunch/Almuerzo: 

• Pancakes, pork sausage patty, hash browns, and fruit choice.

Sports/Deportes:

• Super great race out at Middleton yesterday! We saw some pretty amazing PRs happen. Big shout out to Spencer W Josiah R, Kolson B, Emma Z, Morgan Z, Kenley W. Special shout out to Emma Miller for an incredible sprint to the finish. One more regular season race to go!
• 7A team dominated the court against Fremont last night! What a game, team! Kenzie was awesome at the net covering for Hannah. Melanie and Ximena came up big with key passes and digs, while Rozlynn and Addelyne kept the momentum going with great passing. Addison and Laynie were everywhere—quick feet, smart plays, amazing serves, and total court coverage! Amazing job, girls! Coach Brown is super proud of every one of you!
• 7th B volleyball, against our home town rivals, won their first game this season. The first set was full of beautiful serves, net protection and great rallies, ending in a 24/26 win! Way to bring home the win in the second set, continuing your hard work and energy! Coach is proud of all 8 of you!! 
• In the crosstown rivalry against that school who shall not be named, your 8A Kuna Kavemen owned the court and sent them home with a loss! It was a thrilling team victory, with some outstanding individual performances:
  • Miley — 1 ace & 2 kills
    Makynlee — 1 block
    Anani — 5 aces & 2 kills
    Ava — 1 ace
    Camilla — 1 drop kill
    • The Lady Kavemen brought the energy, battled for every point, and came away with another big win! 
      • Who has the best 8th grade volleyball team in Kuna?

Friday Shout Outs!

• This week’s teacher shout outs belong to two of our amazing science teachers! 
  • First, Students would like to recognize Mr. Verunac  for his kindness, awesome sense of humor, and engaging teaching style—with students calling him kind, funny, and absolute 'beast' of a teacher!"
  • Second, students want to give a big shout-out to Mrs. Brittney Jones! Students appreciate her patience and praise her for making science exciting, keeping advisory engaging, and being an awesome, fun, and chill teacher!
  • Lastly, the science teachers would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Dent. She made their week by making them each fun, science-themed shirts. The teachers appreciate how you always think of everyone else.
• And now for today's Student Shout-Outs!
  • First up, a huge congratulations to Harley Goold! Mrs. Haro wants to recognize Harley for scoring a 100% on her History test, participating in class discussions, and setting a great example for her peers.
  • Next, shout-out to Peyton Walker! Mrs. Covarrubias recognizes Peyton for always stepping up and being willing to help others in class.
  • Finally, way to go Tyler Kasparek! Mrs. Birkinbine gives Tyler a shout-out for crushing his Unit 1 Math test with a perfect 100%!
  • Great job to Harley, Peyton, and Tyler—keep up the amazing work!

• Wrestling sign ups will be this Wednesday during each grade-level lunch in the upstairs wrestling room in the gym. Pizza will be provided for everyone who signs up!
• Good luck to 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams as they play against East Valley today!
