Advisory Update

A Week of Gratitude

It was a heartfelt week in Advisory as we shifted our focus toward celebrating the many special people who guide and support our students. Through reflection and creativity, students took the time to honor those who make a difference in their lives.

Honoring Our Educators
We kicked off the week by celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week 2026. Students reflected on how teachers act as mentors and "launchpads" for their future dreams. To show their gratitude, everyone participated in writing thoughtful, handwritten notes to current or past teachers, sharing specific memories and "thank yous" that often mean more than any gift.

Celebrating Caregivers and Mentors
The spirit of gratitude continued as we prepared for Mother's Day. We took time to "Honor the Heart" by recognizing not just mothers, but also the stepmothers, grandmothers, aunts, and mentors who provide endless support. Students used this quiet time to design handmade cards, focusing on personal messages to express exactly why these individuals are their real-life heroes.

Spotlight: The 8th Grade Legacy Project
This week, our 8th graders filmed candid videos for their Legacy Project. As they approach the end of their middle school journey, they began brainstorming and working on initiatives to leave a lasting, positive mark on our school community. It was inspiring to see them transition from being students to becoming leaders who care about the footprint they leave behind for future classes.

Academic Milestones
Between these moments of reflection, students also tackled the iReady Reading Diagnostic. This allowed them to check in on their academic growth and set personal goals for the remainder of the school year.
