Thank you to our students for helping keep our school safe and orderly

Kuna Middle School strives to instill good habits in students where, along with the help of their parents, students can learn to be responsible community members. We want our students to have fun while learning in a safe environment. Unfortunately, some students choose to bully or harass, and intimidate others, misuse or destroy items, and have disrespectful language.

Kuna Middle School administration appreciates the support of parents and the conversation you have with your students about respect, responsibility, and kindness.

Our KMS values are:

A Belated Congratulations

Congratulations to Autumn O’Conner, Victoria Guevara Flores, Rand Copeland, Arielle Deblieck, Darina Medina, Everlee Ming, and Hannah Harrison for being our February students of the month. They were chosen by their math teachers for their great attitude.

Advisory Update

Exploring AI Ethics

It was a busy and productive week in Advisory as we welcomed students back from their break! We kicked off Monday by focusing on our classroom community; students spent time reconnecting with their peers and teachers through a series of high-energy group games. It was a fantastic way to settle back into the school routine and strengthen our class bonds.

The rest of the week we focused on a critical modern skill: Ethical Awareness in AI. Over these three days, students explored the intersection of technology and responsibility through three key lenses:

Questioning & Purpose: Learning that AI is a tool, not just an "answer machine." We discussed how to identify a clear purpose—like brainstorming or understanding a tough concept—before using digital tools.
Evaluation & Judgment: Students tackled the concept of AI "hallucinations," emphasizing the vital importance of fact-checking and maintaining a critical eye toward computer-generated information.
Accountability: We wrapped up by defining academic integrity in the digital age. Students worked together to understand that while AI can be a powerful shortcut, it doesn't replace the "mental muscle" built through personal effort and practice.

Our Commitment: The Advisory Honor Code

To wrap up the week, each student took what they learned and applied it to our own community standards. We worked together to define what academic integrity looks like in a world with AI.

As you can see in the photos below, our students have committed to using technology in ways that are honest, fair, and respectful. We are so proud of the thoughtful "Codes of Conduct" they created to ensure they are growing as responsible digital citizens.

Students can get help any time of the day or night. Tutors can help you with difficult concepts and help teach you in different ways. We encourage students to utilize this service.

Students & Families, our starting matchups are finally here! On Wednesday, April 1st at 4:15 pm, it’s a day of tennis action as the KMS A Team hosts Emmett, while the B Team heads to Emmett City Park for their matchup. Then on Friday, April 3rd, cheer on the KMS Track team as they compete away at Middleton High School starting at 4:15 pm; let's show our school spirit and support all our athletes!
