Registration for classes 26-27
Kuna Middle School counselors have visited all classrooms grades 5 through 7 and presented information about classes to students who will be attending Kuna Middle School next school year, 2026-2027. Students took home a paper with the elective options for their next year grade level. Parents need to sign the forms.

Counselors will be going into current 7th grade classes on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, and guiding students through choosing their electives for next year on the computer through Class Choice. Students should have already turned their forms back into their Science teacher. Additional elective forms are available in the counseling office.

All current 6th grade students should turn their elective forms into their Science teachers by Friday, March 6. Counselors will be entering classes into the computer for 6th grade students. Additional elective forms are available in the counseling office.

Please do not send Needoh type fidgets to school with your students.

We understand that fidgets can help students focus on school work. We advocate that students use these tools to help them. We have found that the Needoh or squishy types of fidgets are being used inappropriately by students. Students have been cutting them open, poking holes in them, or otherwise breaking them apart in class and in bathrooms making a distraction and a mess that is difficult to clean up. When the substance inside dries, often times it is difficult to remove from floors, bathroom stalls, desks etc.
These types of fidgets are no longer allowed at Kuna Middle School. Please keep them at home. Students are allowed to have other types of fidget toys if they are appropriately used.

Safe Routes to School

Student safety is so important to the entire Kuna community. A reminder for all drivers to adhere to posted school zone speed limits.

  • Bikes, scooters, e-bikes, and e-scooters must be walked on campus.
  • Wear a helmet
  • Wear clothing that is visible, even in the dark.
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Don't wear headphones or use Bluetooth helmets when riding so you can hear traffic and directions.
  • Know the rules of the road.

Parents, please talk to your children about road safety and their awareness of their surroundings when walking or riding to school, especially when it's dark. Together, with improved safety protocols and awareness, we could help keep everyone safe.

Kuna Middle School received a donation of these bike flashing safety lights. If students would like one for their bike or scooter, we will give them one for free from the main office, counseling office, security staff, or the SRO.

Advisory Update

This week in Advisory, students focused on bridging the gap between their current academic habits and their future aspirations. We began the week on Monday with a Study Hall Day, where students were encouraged to use their previous grade checks as a checklist to catch up on any missing assignments. This was followed by a lighter, collaborative session on Tuesday as classes played the Green Glass Door Game, a logic-based activity designed to build critical thinking and team rapport. On Wednesday, the focus shifted back to academics with the Math SICA, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their progress in core math skills.

As we moved into the latter half of the week, Thursday was dedicated to our first day of College and Career Exploration. Introducing these concepts in middle school is a vital step in helping students see the long-term value of their education. By exploring diverse career paths and higher education options now, students can begin to align their interests with future goals in a low-pressure environment
