Advisory Update

Teachers began the week last week by guiding students through a presentation focused on coping with holiday stress and practicing gratitude. Students discussed how the holiday season can bring a mix of emotions and learned practical strategies for managing stress, such as recognizing what they can control, taking breaks when needed, and leaning on trusted supports. The lesson also encouraged students to reflect on gratitude and the positive role it can play in improving mindset and overall well-being.

For the remainder of the week, students explored their future options through virtual college tours. They visited the University of Idaho, College of Idaho, Boise State University, and Idaho State University, learning about campus life, academic opportunities, and different pathways available after high school. These tours helped students begin thinking about post-secondary options while seeing that there are many ways to continue their education and pursue their goals.

Keep Collecting Pop Tabs! Last Day January 7!

We are continuing our soda tab competition in advisory to see which class can collect the most soda/pop tabs. All collected tabs will go toward Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho, thanks to the Colquitt family.

James and Stephanie Colquitt have been collecting pop tabs every year to donate in honor of their son Kai, who passed away in 2019 at just six weeks old. This year, our students have the chance to help them collect even more tabs for their 2026 donation, making a meaningful contribution while learning the impact of small acts of generosity.

We can’t wait to see which advisory will bring in the most tabs and support this special cause!

Rumor has it, Mrs. Richmond's advisory class is currently in the lead.

WIN

(What I Need)

WIN Time & iReady MyPath

Students have switched to their last WIN group for the semester. This time they focus on Reading extension through WIN lessons. Students who still need help in Math will continue to work on Math each day. All students will work on MyPath Math on Monday and Thursdays.
Students have completed or almost completed their Winter Reading Diagnostic. Students will take the iReady Math Diagnostic in January. After all assessments are taken and data is analyzed, students will be placed in new WIN groups based on their Winter scores.
Research shows that students who spend 45 minutes on MyPath a week and who participate in iReady lessons grow more than typical on their ISAT scores each year.
Students can work on MyPath at home!!
